A seed of thought

What does it look like, a revolution that overthrows and kills corruption without killing people?

King, Carmichael, and Malcom X were all at odds about the use of violence to achieve their goals.

What did Ghandi achieve in the end?

Can it be done with votes?

I'm not sure it can.

  1. It's hard to live in Kansas and find hope in voting after yesterday's election. I felt that way for a long, long time, but after 2008, I thought maybe things were turning. Kansas still went republican, but I thought maybe there was a wave of change coming. Now I'm not so sure.

  2. King was pretty sure that violence begets more violence, but Malcolm reminded him that people were pretty good at doing that on their own. Gandhi got shot, and India got partitioned, but hey--no British! Whoops!
If you want to change the system, you have to change the system. Might mean something different than voting, or *gasp* democracy as we know it...Eek!
Keep your brain and your lighter fluid within reach, brother...
